I CAN'T Do It!

Writer's picture: Don Lamar Don Lamar

As a motivator, and one who loves to encourage others, I often challenge people to NEVER say the words "I Can't!" Well, today I challenge you to embrace this phrase. I know, it sounds like I'm asking you to throw in the towel, and I just want to assure you that's EXACTLY what I'm doing. I want you to be able to say "I'm DONE, FINISHED, I Have HAD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!" Obviously, I'm feeling some type of way, but it's okay, trust me. You've probably been feeling this way for quite a while, keeping it all bottled up inside. Well, now It's time I help you PURGE! Lol.

RELAX!!! We're Not going to physically hurt anyone, but we are about to kill off some things that have hindered you from being where you want and should be. First of all, you must take FULL responsibility for EVERY decision you've made, both good and not so good. Nobody put a gun to your head and forced you into anything, the devil didn't make you do it, it was all you. You allowed yourself to be played trying to play a game that wasn't designed for you to win. What is that game? It's called "Conformity"! Conformity is a type of social influence involving a change in belief or behavior in order to fit in with a group. How many times have you given in to someone else's beliefs about who they think you should be? How many times have you excepted the irrational beliefs of others just to satisfy a need of belonging? Well, if you're tired and willing to commit to a better you, then THAT day is Over!

When they want you to fall in line, like everyone else, and not address the problems you were created to solve, simply say "Sorry, I can't do it!" When they want you to sit your creative genius on the shelf and be "normal" so others can feel comfortable, just say "Sorry, I can't do it!" When they want you to refrain from sharing your gift(s) with the outside world, yet refuse to open up that which you've offered to them, hold your head up and say "Sorry, but once again I can't do it!" No longer can you deny yourself the fulfillment that comes with living your purpose. Refuse to sacrifice your freedom to create change just to have a position of prestige within a society that is all too comfortable with remaining the same. A mentor once told me, "There is greatness within you, because you have something to give." Recognizing, and embracing that greatness is what separates the "World Changers" from the "World Samers".

You want to be great? Live in YOUR Purpose. Not "Theirs" but YOURS. Now, that's something you CAN Do!!!!
